Infrastructure - Georgia has nationally acclaimed, state-of-the-art deepwater ports in Savannah and Brunswick. Georgia also has 3,500 miles of main and branch-line track, and 20,000 miles of interstate, federal and state highways.

Telecommunications Network - Atlanta is a transmission hub for the country’s two largest fiber optic trunk routes. Georgia is the national leader in the deployment of ISDN technology, with more than 1,850 points of presence statewide. The state has more than 500,000 miles of cable buried beneath its highways.

Market Access - Hartsfield-Jackson Airport is the world’s busiest passenger airport with more than 2,000 daily flights. 80 percent of the U.S. population is accessible by two hours’ flight. 82 percent of the U.S. industrial market and 79 percent of the largest consumer markets can be reached in two or fewer truck delivery days.

Education/Training - Georgia’s university system is the nation’s fourth largest. The state nationally recognized Quick Start program has provided customized training for more than 390,000 workers. The U.S. Census Bureau ranks Atlanta second for the percentage of its population with a college degree.

LOCATION ASSETS: Logistics/Intermodal - Georgia Rail System - Georgia offers 1,326 miles of short line rail.CSX Transportation and Norfolk Southern Corporation’s 5,000 miles of main-and branch-line track make Georgia the Southeast’s most extensive rail system.One hundred and forty daily trains head in and out of Atlanta’s modern and efficient classification yards located throughout the state.CSX and Norfolk Southern have six intermodal terminals throughout the state. Savannah’s Containerport is connected to Atlanta via expedited piggyback and container train services.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport - Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson is the only airport in the Southeast to be approved by the USDA to apply cold treatment, an environmentally safe alternative to methyl bromide. Cargo services feature operations by more than 100 licensed customs brokers and 200 domestic and international freight forwarders. Atlanta’s Perishables Complex feature on-site distribution and transportation capabilities, USDA inspection services and a USDA approved fumigation chamber. More than 200 million people, 80 of U.S. consumers, are within two hours' flight time from Hartsfield-Jackson, or one day's trucking by highway.

Port of Savannah - 83 of US commercial markets are within 2 shipping days of GA. Specializing in the handling of container, reefer, breakbulk and RoRo cargoes. The Garden City Terminal, in the Port of Savannah, is the largest container facility on the US East and Gulf Coasts. Port of Brunswick - Specializing in the handling of breakbulk, agri-bulk and RoRo cargoes.Colonel’s Island Terminal Agri-Bulk Facility offers two class I rail providers, CSX and Norfolk Southern with switching services and 200 hopper cars by way of the complex loop track.

Port Bainbridge - Owned and operated by the Georgia Ports Authority, Port Bainbridge is conveniently located on the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint Waterway, or Tri-Rivers System. The multifaceted 107-acre (43.3-hectare) facility is equipped to handle a variety of bulk cargoes via barge traffic, providing port users with an economic alternative to other transport. Long- and short-term storage is made available to customers via 93,000 square feet (9,292 square meters) of covered storage. Primary cargoes transiting Bainbridge include: nitrogen solution, gypsum, ammonium sulfate, urea, cottonseed and cypress bark mulch. Port Bainbridge - is ideally located within close proximity to two interstates. CSX Transportation provides Class I rail service. Port Columbus - Owned by the Georgia Ports Authority and leased to a private terminal operator, S.T. Services, Port Columbus is located on the Chattahoochee River with convenient access to the U.S. Gulf via the Tri-Rivers System (Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint Waterway). The dedicated liquid bulk facility totals 14 acres (5.7 hectares) and is equipped to handle a variety of liquid bulk cargoes via barge traffic, providing port-users with an economic alternative to other transport. North/South and East/West interstate access is available via three interstates. Norfolk Southern Railroad provides Class I rail service.
