General Information:

Q) What is FastFacility?
A) FastFacility is an online database of industrial and commercial buildings and sites submitted by economic development agencies around the world.

Q) Does it cost anything to use FastFacility?
A) No, the search services are free, confidential, and carry no obligation at anytime.

Q) Whose properties are listed on FastFacility?
A) Properties are listed by economic development agencies representing communities, states, provinces, regions, utilities, chambers of commerce, and countries all over the world.

Q) Who are the FastFacility sponsors?
A) Our sponsors are also economic developers and utilities but additionally include support services and consultants who can assist companies with their site location needs.

Q) Why do I get a message about downloading Macromedia® Flash® or Shockwave®?
A) FastFacility uses a number of Macromedia® Flash® elements throughout the site. Older browsers may not have the Flash® plugin (all browser platforms now come with Flash® pre-installed). Downloading the plugin will allow you to fully experience this site as well as many others on the Internet.

Q) Why do I get an error message regarding cookies?
A) The FastFacility Site only uses "session cookies" which simply contain numbers indicating whether you have logged on. This avoids the need to send your user name and password every time that you request a page. They expire automatically when you restart your browser. To avoid getting the error message and to ensure proper operation, go to the menu bar of your browser and click on "Tools"; "Internet Options"', "Privacy", then click on the Advanced button and check that "Always Allow Session Cookies" has been selected. For Netscape Navigator click on "Edit", "Preferences", then click on the Advanced button and select "Accept all cookies".

Basic Building and Site Search:

Q) Who lists the sites and buildings on FastFacility?
A) Economic development agencies , property owners, and developers, from all over the world can list their premium buildings and sites on FastFacility.

Q) What search options do I have?
A) Your search options include the Fast Search (basic search of the database), the Portfolio Manager (save the search criteria of up to 10 projects so that you can frequently check back and be updated with the click of a button), and the Customized Search (we will confidentially notify our members on your behalf of your search criteria). Q) Are the searches confidential?
A) All searches are kept completely confidential. Your contact information will never be sold or used for solicitation purposes. (see Privacy Statement).

Q) Why did my search results show zero buildings or sites?
A) If your search criteria are too narrow it is possible to receive a zero result. Try searching again with fewer search criteria (ex. do not select Ceiling Height).

Portfolio Manager:

Q) What is the Portfolio Manager?
A) The Portfolio Manager is an effective tool for organizing and speeding up your searches. You can save up to 10 projects in your private Portfolio and with the click of the mouse frequently check to see if there are any new buildings or sites that fit your criteria.

Q) Whom is Portfolio Manager designed to help?
A) It is designed to help anyone who is managing multiple projects (site location consultants or corporate location managers) or for those who need to frequently review a particular search to find the right facility.

Q) Do I need to register?
A) Yes.You will also need to log in to access your portfolio.

Q) What happens with my registration information?
A) It is kept by FastFacility for administrative purposes only. Your contact information will never be sold or used for solicitation purposes. (see Privacy Statement).

A) Absolutely. Your contact information will never be sold or used for solicitation purposes. (see Privacy Statement).

Customized Search:

Q) What is the Customized Search?
A) If you can't find exactly what you are looking for in the database you can use the Customized Search feature to have us notify all appropriate FastFacility members of your search criteria.

Q) Is my search information kept confidential?
A) By default, all Customized Search requests are kept completely confidential. If you would prefer that the economic development agency contact you directly, you have the option of making your identity known to select prospects (see Privacy Statement).

Q) What happens after I join?
A) Within 48 hours of joining you will receive an e-mail followed by an invoice with a temporary username and password. You can then log in and change your profile (including your password information), add buildings, and upload your pictures.

Q) Is my privacy protected?
A) Yes (see Privacy Statement).

Q) How do I upload or reload images?
A) From your account menu select the" Upload logo or building/site image files" button. Then select the listing for the image you wish to upload. Click on the 'Browse' button. When you find the file you want to upload click 'Open', then press the 'Upload Files' button. Note: All Property images should be 72 dpi and 450 pixels wide X 225 pixels high (max.) for optimal viewing. All Logo images should be 72 dpi and 200 pixels wide X 85 pixels high (max.) for optimal viewing.  After updating an image with a newer file, please remember to refresh the listing page to clear the cache and view the newer image.
